College Sports

For many years now there has been a controversial argument over whether college athletes should be paid for playing in college sports.

In my opinion i believe that they should be paid to play in college sports. I believe this because the colleges get a great deal of money from their fan base and from people going to sporting events. The people that do all the work in the games get none of the money raised to come watch them play. Look at college football and specifically Alabama. The college of Alabama has gone to the playoffs for the last 4 years in a row. They have consistently great football players and they get more and more money each year for getting their players into the playoffs. Yet all the money they get goes right to the school and the athletes get nothing but a pat on the back.

Another reason why college athletes should be getting paid is because it is literally no different then professional sports. They play the same game and close tho the same amount of people come to watch so why should the athletes be treated any different? They shouldn't many of these athletes could eventually be playing in a pro sport where they do get paid but they should be getting paid for their hard work at the collegiate level.

Lastly college athletes should get paid to play college sports because some may need the money. In many cases kids that go to college have to pay for a lot of it and use their own money, which is not cheap and easy to pay for. So these athletes unless on a full ride scholarship have to dedicate themselves to playing a sport and also focus on their school work and some need to find a job to pay off college which is basically impossible. Which is another reason why they should be able to get money for playing college sports.

Donald Trump

I think that all three Donald Trump videos we watched are terrible. I have a very different opinion than Donald trump. I believe that if we really want to solve things in the middle east with the Muslims then we can do it a better way than banning them from our country until it is solved.
One reason why I thinks Trump is wrong for wanting to do this is because if we ban Muslims from coming into the US then they will retaliate by banning us from their oil, or tensions wills just rise and they will hate America even More. The United states gets a lot of our oil from these middle eastern countries, these countries produce most of the worlds oil and they could easily ban Americans from their oil if we ban Muslims from America.
Overall I am just not a big fan of Donald Trump and I think his reasoning on this topic is very wrong and frankly just racist.

My Favorite Show

My favorite TV show is Family Guy
I enjoy Family Guy because it is funny and kind of dumb. It brings me back to when I was little and enjoyed watching cartoons.
The things that they do in the show are humorous and I enjoy getting a laugh from the things that they do in Family Guy. I enjoy that this show is also on Netflix so that I can go back and re watch the episodes or watch the ones that I missed.
I do not watch a lot of TV but when I do I watch Family Guy.

Paris Attack

Over the weekend Paris, France was attacked by a terrorist group called Isis. More than 120 people were killed at a concert. This terror attack caused France to start bombing Isis.
I am worried about this because this could start another war and the US could end up getting involved.

An advertisement that really annoys me are all Mcdonald's commercials. I get annoyed by these commercial because they sell terrible products. They over promote these products on social media. Proof of this is when you see a commercial with the "Big Mac" in it it looks perfect and really good, but when you buy a Big Mac in real life they look m=nothing like the pictures. Another reason I get annoyed by these ads is because it's just reeling in kids and other people to be eating unhealthy foods. I was a former Subway worker before I quit and that was the healthiest fast food you can get. Versus the Mcdonald's food almost every item on the menu is bad for you even the salads have more calories than some of the burgers. I get annoyed by these commercials because Mcdonald's never has the same product as in the commercials, and because Americans don't need to be eating this unhealthy fast food. 

Processed Meat

Processed meat can cause cancer.

I read an article from CNN.com saying that it was proven that the processed meat we eat daily can cause cancer. These meats can be anything that's processed like  hot dogs, burgers, bacon, and many others. They say that at least 34,000 deaths from cancer can be blamed on an unhealthy processed meat diet. Of course all of the meat industries are accusing the news of being false. In my opinion i do believe that processed meats can have an influence on people's health. Therefore I think that this is important information especially in America where there are a large number of obese people. If Americans don't start  listening to this, more people could end up with cancer because of their diet.

I have learned a lot about media in the past six weeks. All of the stuff that i have learned will be useful in my everyday life. I learned to find a bias and how to overlook it and find the real messages. I also learned that almost every new station has a bias, not always a bad one though. Along with learning about biases I learned about comparing new stations and their stories. No two news stations report the same story in the same way. This is because of their biases and their thoughts on what is important for the public. Overall in the past six weeks i have found many new ways to not get sucked into social media and all other medias that are in my everyday life.
